How You Can Help the Homeless in Prince William County, VA, This Spring

We’re looking to give back to our community in a big way this spring, and we need your help to get it done. In partnership with the Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Center in Prince William County, our Events Committee is overseeing a collection of important items to be donated to the individuals and families in need currently staying at this important facility.

So whether you come across some unneeded everyday essentials during your spring cleaning or you simply have a chance to pick up a few extra items for donation on your next shopping trip, every little bit helps, and we hope you’ll join us in giving back to the community. Read on to find out what items are most needed and where you can drop off your donation.

What Items Are Needed

The Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Center is currently looking for a variety of items for its tenants, and a small act of kindness can make a world of difference to someone in your community. Here are the most needed items:

  • Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.)
  • Plasticware
  • $10 gift cards
  • Toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, body wash, etc.)
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Reusable water bottles
  • First aid items
  • Clean socks

Where to Donate

We’re currently accepting donations at the Cardinal Management Group, Inc. corporate office in Woodbridge, VA, found at the address below:

Donations are being accepted until March 20 and can be made by adding your item(s) to the collection box located by the main reception desk.

Who You’ll Be Helping

The Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Center is a 30-bed facility located in Woodbridge, VA, that’s operated by Prince William County. The shelter is open year-round and offers services for families and single adults who are in need of emergency shelter and food assistance. In addition to providing a warm home for those in need, this shelter also offers mental health counseling, budget training, job readiness services and more to help people get people back on their feet.
